Paper Bag Auction!!
by Candice R.
(Phoenix, AZ)
We played a really fun game at my cousin's last birthday party. It was the last game we played with a whole night of games, and was the one to sort of wrap up the party. We all loved it.
During the previous games, the winners would receive play money (I think it was Monopoly money) as a reward for their wins. At the end of the night, we used that money to bid on items (like an auction) that we couldn't see. My cousin's wife held them up, but they were wrapped in plain paper bags and you had no idea what was inside. For some of them she gave little hints about what they would be to encourage people to bid.
So we all bid on these items that we couldn't see. It got really competitive with some of us! Then we opened up the bag and looked at what we won. They were all silly joke prizes (though a couple were really neat). I won a plastic lizard my husband won a pair of granny panties and one of our friends won a really nice wedge of fancy cheese with crackers and a knife. It was fun seeing how some of the prizes were junk and others were really good. It was a hilarious way to end the night!!
