Drunken Clove-Whiskey Honey Baked Ham Recipe

Sure, this honey baked ham recipe is sweet... but it's also a little naughty, too. The alcohol in the whiskey evaporates away as the ham cooks, of course... but leaves all its wonderful flavor behind. This recipe is quick, simple, and incredibly delicious. You'll want to use whole cloves for a regular ham, and ground cloves for a spiral sliced.

One 7 lb. ham serves about 15-20 people.

Ingredients:
1 (7 lb.) fully cooked, bone-in ham
3/4 C. honey
2 tbsp. bourbon
handful of whole cloves (or 1/2 tsp. ground cloves)

Instructions: 1. Preheat the oven to 275 degrees F.

2. If not spiral sliced, score and stud ham generously with whole cloves, as desired.

3. In a small bowl, stir together honey, bourbon, and ground cloves (if using).

4. Place ham cut-end down in a baking dish. Pour or brush honey-bourbon mixture over. You'll want to leave about half for the end.

5. Cover and bake about 1 hour and 30-45 minutes, or until heated through.

6. Remove foil and raise oven temperature to 425 degrees F.

7. Brush ham with the rest of the honey mixture. Bake 10 minutes, or until golden.

8. Remove from pan and pour honey/ham juices over before serving.
