simple to use-- it takes five minutes to mix up. Seriously, it's that easy... but doesn't taste anything like your boring basic barbecue sauce recipe.

1 tsp. chili powder
1 tsp. finely ground black pepper

1/2 tsp. red pepper flakes
2 C. tomato ketchup
1/4-1/3 C. apple cider vinegar, to taste
2 Tbsp. yellow mustard
2 tsp. liquid smoke
1/2 C. firmly packed dark brown sugar
Instructions: Dump all ingredients together in a medium, non-reactive saucepan. Bring to a simmer, stirring often.
Simmer over low heat for 20-30 minutes, until slightly thickened. Cool slightly and serve.
