Garlic and Basil Roast Beef Sandwiches
This is not your mother's roast beef sandwich! Tender, tangy, and full of flavor, this is a combination of flavors that will surprise and delight. One of those party recipes for a buffet food that will have your guests thronging around the buffet table!
Ingredients:
1 loaf French Bread
12 cloves of roasted garlic, peeled
2 tbs. olive oil
1 pound roast beef
1 bundle fresh basil
2 large tomatoes sliced
8 oz. fresh mozzarella
Balsamic vinegar
Instructions: 1. Begin by slicing the bread into generous pieces and toasting it lightly.
2. Blend the olive oil with the baked garlic until it turns into a paste. Cover one piece of each pair of bread slices with the paste.
3. On top of the garlic spread, lay the roast beef followed by tomato slices and sliced mozzarella.
4. Drizzle with balsamic vinegar, then top with another piece of bread. Put a toothpick in the middle to hold everything together, cut it in half or quarters, and you're done!
