Patriotic Potatoes Snack Recipe Idea

Potato chips are one of my favorite easy Fourth of July snacks... and this recipe makes 'em in red, white, and blue! Maybe you didn't know you could do the colors of the flag with potato chips... But you can! While the white peel will turn brown and the red will, too, the idea for these chips is a ton of fun.

If blue potatoes are hard to come by, or you just want to keep things simple, just make these with white or red potatoes... the flavor is the same and they're still a ton of fun. Yukon Gold and Idaho are both great for this.

Ingredients:
2 each lg. red, white, and blue-skinned potatoes (or 6 potatoes)
Vegetable oil for frying
Seasoning of your choice (see below for options)

Instructions: 1. Wash the skin well before slicing very thin.

2. Soak in water about 30 minutes. Dry thoroughly

3. Fry in 375 degree oil until brown. Scoop onto paper towels. Season as desired.

For this easy Fourth of July snack idea, you can get creative with your seasonings! How about:

If you're not serving your chips immediately, make sure they cool completely, and then bundle them up in an airtight food storage bag. They keep okay for about two days.
