Thanksgiving Turkey in an Oven Bag- Adding Water?

Hello, I have seasoned the turkey under the skin and on the skin as well as inside. I am roasting the turkey in a bag. Should I add water to the roasting pan?

Says here you can add 14oz of chicken broth.

I'm doing 22lb fresh bird in bag

Rub:
2.5 tbs canola oil
2.5 tbs chopped fresh parsley
2 tbs chopped fresh sage
2 tbs chopped fresh thyme
1.5 tsp sea salt
1.5 tsp fresh ground pepper


Cavity :
3 sprigs fresh parsley
3 sprigs fresh sage
3 sprigs fresh thyme
6 shallot halves/peeled
2 green apples/quartered

1 1/2 cup apple cider poured in/over bird & 6 more shallots in the bottom of the bag with the cider runoff.

Gravy:
4 cups turkey giblet stock
3 tbs flour
2 tbs apple vinegar
1 1/4 cup apple cider
1/4 tsp salt
fresh ground peper to taste

Hi there. Thanks for writing in with your question. Roasting turkey in a bag usually doesn't require any water. I did check at Reynolds, though, and they've got a few pages on how to use oven bags to cook a turkey:

There, they don't say anything about adding water, so it looks like you shouldn't!
